The spammers are at it again. I had added a challenge-response question to try to block some of them, but when I got hit with over 300 spam comments in less than and hour, I knew I had to close them off again. From this point on, comments are closed. I really hate that some idiots are bound to ruin open discourse.
Speaking of the website, LeapFish.com has come out with a service where they will calculate the value of various domain names. By their calculations, the RandomConnections domain name is worth $12,150.00. Now if someone wants to pay me that much (or more) for it, I’ll gladly sell. They do have a disclaimer for their Estimated Value…
Estimated Actual Value: This number is created with a formula using the Combined Value Score and the Estimated Base Value. It is intended to reflect what an actual value could be based on recent domain name sales data. Domain names are, by theory, only worth what somebody will pay for them so could possibly be worth more or less than the Estimated Actual Value. This value is for informational purposes only and LeapFish.com and any associated people, are not responsible for how you use this data.
By comparison, here are some other, more familiar websites and their values:
- Google – $2,840,064
- Yahoo – $1,393,944
- Fark – $943,274
- BoingBoing – $733,286
- The Onion – $93,750
- CNN – $689,526
