Back when I was teaching pinhole photography to seventh grade students, my father-in-law gave me an old Singer Graflex camera that he owned. This is the classic version, seen in use by photojournalists in old movies all the time.
I have no idea how old this thing really is, but I believe it still works. I just don’t know if I could ever get film for it. Unfortunately, it uses the 3X4 film plates. Singer made some 4X5s, and those are the same size as used by other large format cameras.
Still, it’s a cool camera. I pulled it out this evening to see if I could get some interesting pictures of it with the lightbox setup. My lightbox wasn’t quite large enough to accommodate the camera, so the flash is cut off in this image.
