I think every blog on the planet eventually has a post about the owner’s cat(s). Although I’ve posted when one of our cats has a significant event (illness or injury, usually) I don’t normally post every time they cough up a hairball or do something cute.
In this case, it’s more about photography. In the shot above, Rascal was sleeping peacefully in the sunlight. I took three bracketed shots with varying exposures. In Photoshop, I picked the two shots with the best lighting, and copied one on top of the other. The upper portion of one shot was better exposed, and the bottom part of the other was the best. I used a gradient mask to fade from the upper of one to the lower of the other, thereby getting the best exposure from both shots. I then cleaned up any problems by painting in black or white with the paintbrush tool.
That Photoshop class I attended is coming in very handy.
