Just a word of advertisement here… Fellow blogger and online friend Brad Willis has put together an amazing podcast. In 1975 narcotics detective Frank Looper was murdered. Charles Wakefield, Jr. was charged with the crime, and his arrest warrant listed the charges as “Murder, etc.“
Brad’s story is intriguing and is of a quality on par with podcasts such as Serial. The podcast describes the police corruption rampant in Greenville during the 1970s, and is made even more compelling because these are names and places that I know. So far Brad has released seven episodes along with a couple of bonus episodes. Regular episodes return on April 30.
I had listened to all of the episodes but Laura had not. This past week we took a drive in the convertible through the mountains and I got Laura started on the series. We listened to all available episodes in one trip. I don’t even remember much of the road trip since we were so wrapped up in the story.
So fire up you favorite podcast app and subscribe to Brad’s most excellent series. You’ll find it binge-worthy.
