Laura got some very good news yesterday. She and three other women chemists have been awarded a $500,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to development mentoring programs for women professors in the sciences. It sounds like an excellent program, but it also sounds like she’s going to be doing quite a bit of work on it.
The grant builds upon a previous Mellon Grant for faculty development she had received, which included senior women faculty in chemistry from five liberal arts colleges around the country. The NSF grant will expand the program to other science disciplines and to include other colleges.
