While I was in Atlanta at NECC, I fired up iTunes at my hotel. I was quite surpirsed to see that someone had shared their iPod library. I was even more suprised that I could access all 12.5 GB of his music. I could listen to it, but couldn’t copy or do anything else.
This person probably had set up iTunes to share on his home network. He probably didn’t realize that his music would also be visible to the entire hotel network.
It didn’t end there. During the iPod session I attended, I logged onto iTunes for a minute. I saw about half a dozen shared music libraries on the convention center network. I wonder if they realized how visible they were.
