I’ve said it before. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. Apart from feast preparations, there are no heavy expectations for gifts, etc. You just enjoy each other’s company.
This year we celebrated over at Chip and Anna’s. That means turkey liberally sprinkled with electronics and video games. The game of choice this year was “Rock Band” for the xBox 360. One can play guitar, bass, drums, or sing. Actually, you’re either pressing buttons on a guitar neck or hitting a pad in the right order and rhythm. Apart from the singing, there is nothing remotely related to playing the actual instruments. It was fun for awhile, but I began to get frustrated we how much it was not like actually playing an instrument.
As usual, an uncomfortable amount of food was consumed, and there was a requisite recovery period. In the evening, we went out to Chip’s shed, where we had a nice fire going. We put up a screen, pulled out my projector, and watched a movie in the cold while huddling under blankets. It was a blast.
