Today was the last session of my Portraiture class at the Museum of Art. Each our classmates presented their work from last week’s photosession, and we made comments. We have some excellent photographers in this group, and I was quite impressed with some of the images. Even though each of us was shooting the same subject, we each tended to have a slightly different approach.
After a brief break to view some work by Diane Hopkins-Hughes, we continued our critiques. Polly wrapped up the class by covering model release forms and how to select photos for a portfolio.
Overall, I think it was a great experience. I’m not sure I’ll be able to replicate some of these effects the next time someone wants me to do a portrait, but at least I’ll be more mindful of some things. Maybe this will improve my portraits. Now I just need to find another victim subject.
