I’m still playing around with this new admin interface for WordPress, and so far I like it. I’ve found a few things missing from the old site, though. Any non-Flickr image from one of my old galleries seems to be gone. I think I could retrieve them, if need be, but this includes all images from our 2004 cross-country trip. Also, any of my ASP pages are now gone, including my South Carolina Place Names database. I think I can rebuild that with Google tables.
One of my favorite things about this particular theme are the customizable header images. I took several of my favorite photos and scaled/cropped them to the correct size. Yes, I did take all of these photos. Here’s a quick rundown…
Middle Saluda River at Jones Gap
Impromtu keyboard on a brick wall in downtown Greenville
Heron in Skagit County, Washington State
Sunset over Lummi Peak, Samish Bay, Washington State
Water Lilies on Lake Marion
Alan Russell on Lake Jocassee
One lone red tulip, Skagit County Tulip Festival, Washington State
Yosemite Valley, California
Stonehenge
Reedy Falls, downtown Greenville
Cedar Falls Dam on the Reedy River, Greenville County
Winter Solstice Sunrise, Indian River, Fort Pierce, Florida
Furman Lake and Bell Tower
Jimmy Steinmetz, John Ring, and Matt Richardson paddling through lilies on Lake Marion
Barn windows, Skagit County, Washington State
Skagit River near Concrete, Washington State
Reedy Falls Park, downtown Greenville
Kissimmee Prairie, Okeechobee County, Florida
Piedmont Sunrise from Bald Rock near Caesar’s Head, Greenville County
Matt Richardson, John Ring, and Joe Nahman on Lazaretto Creek near Savannah, Georgia
It was fun collecting all of these and seeing which ones would fit within the 960X200 limitation. The images change each time you visit a different part of the site or reload the page. I’ll keep adding to these as I find more that will work.
Yay! I’m a header! Thanks, Tom!
