Florida can be cool, too

OK, so the previous rant was accurate, to a point.  There are some things about Florida I think I can deal with.  The ability to go fishing at a moment’s notice is one of those.  We took Amy’s boat over to Carl’s, then took his big boat out fishing.

We trolled the channel for grouper for awhile, with no luck.  We caught one small grouper, but it wasn’t a keeper.  We picked up some bait shrimp, then headed back out with casting rigs for snapper and whatever else we might find.

Our catch was not impressive, but was enough to provide dinner.  Between the three of us fishing, we caught several snapper and one sheepshead.  We also caught multiple pufferfish and several mother-in-law fish, which were promptly tossed back.

New Year’s Eve menu – stone crabs (bought from the Farmer’s Market this morning) with Blue Sapphire martinis, snapper with black beans and rice, topped with salsa, and champagne.

OK, so life in Florida is not so bad after all.  BTW, I counted only eight lawyer billboards between here and Vero Beach.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding Florida can be cool, too, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong 🙂
