Traveling is tiring. Traveling with a large group can be even more daunting. Today I took eight of our school tech coordinators to the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC).
The flight to Orlando was uneventful, and our hotel let us check in early. Lunch was leisurely, then we spent most of the rest of the day trying to orient ourselves and get accustomed to the various shuttles – both city and the private ones for the conference.
At about 4:00, the vendor exhibits opened. Some of the booths were identical to the ones I saw at NECC. However, the sheer number of vendors was daunting. I scored a couple of conference freebies, learned a couple of new tricks for Photoshop, and became basically overwhelmed.
Dinner was a relatively quick burger at Bennegin’s without the entire tech crowd, then back to the room to get ready for an early day tomorrow.
