Two posts in one day. Oh boy. Bob and I got to our meeting spot at the take out on the Tyger River, only to find “No Tresspassing” signs everywhere. I can understand trying to keep the random idiots off your land who want to trash the place, but I wish they could differentiate between river runners and rednecks. (Hopefully there is a difference!)
Plan B – we went back to our roots and ran the Enoree River. Our put-in was Yarboro Mill on Highway 49 and the take-out was Musgrove Mill on Highway 56. They (the state) have developed a wonderful state park at Musgrove Mill, complete with river access. Of course, at the put-in we had to trek across a cow pasture. We had forgotten about several rapids on what we thought was a mostly flat river. It’s always a thrill to see the horizon drop away in a roar of water. We had the river to ourselves, except for a hawk, and owl, and several turtles and kingfishers.
