Edtech 2003 2

My last day in this hell hole. Did I say I hate Myrtle Beach?

Once again, I’m at my favorite Greek breakfast nook. It’s relatively cheap, and the service is good. How about that – a geek at a Greek restaurant.

Last night we went to the CSI bash at House of Blues. I actually liked that place, even as touristy as it is. I like the primitive art on wood that covers the place – an eclectic mix that reminds me of the artsy areas of Tucson. The food was good, and the band was OK for a show/dance band. Of course, my crew put on quite a show themselves and dominated the dance floor. After the party, they decided to continue on to some night spot, but I decided I needed sleep. Unfortunately, my hotel seems to be Harley central, so most of the night I heard roaring motors. Did I say I hate this place?

It’s also the last day of the conference. This hasn’t been one of their most stellar meetings. With budget cuts, attendance and presentations are down, There has also been a plague of Death by PowerPoint. I really tire of people who read their PowerPoint slides. This has been a lesson in how NOT to conduct a presentation. I also don’t understand why people pass out printouts of their slides as handouts.

I had a safe, but tiring ride home.  In the evening, I went out to the hot tub, and the racoons were back. They were sitting there staring at my when I turned the jets off.  I had to splash water at them to get them to go away.
