We got new cell phones all around yesterday. Laura’s phone was about to fall apart, so we decided to replace all of them.
I’ve not been a fan of all-in-one devices, and I’ve never had to have the latest and greatest. Functional is fine with me. I don’t think a cell phone’s camera is ever going to give me the results I want. While I’ll gladly ooh and ahh over the iPhone, I don’t necessarily want one. Even so, the phone I got was an LG NV, which still has tons of capabilities beyond simple dialing.
As I opened it up I was struck by the similarity of form factor to the laptops I’ve used recently. The flip top and QWERTY keyboard make it look like a tiny little laptop. I’m too cheap to pay for the extra features, but it still amazes me the amount of computing power packed into these tiny devices.
