OK, I’m going to try again.
Now that I’ve upgraded to the latest version of WordPress, I’ve got some heavy-duty spam filters in place. Therefore, I’ve decided to open comments once again. Not only did I open up future posts. I ran an SQL query to open up all of my previous posts.
Comment away, but remember that I retain final editing and approval rights.
Earlier today I found your blog by Googling “Shoals Junction.” Thank you for including the information of its former names: Barmore, Barmore’s Turnout.
My ancestors were engaged in establishing the Greenville Presbyterian Church, a little bit S of Shoals Junction, and the Douglas Mill (as shown on the old soil survey map) lends credence to assertions that this was a later name for George Reid’s mill.
So I am especially grateful for the link to the old soil survey map.
Kindest regards,
Lawrence H. “Larry” Head, Jr.
