I spent most of the morning after the first session visiting the exhibits. With limited mobility, it took a bit longer than usual. Add to that the fact that this is the largest exhibit hall I’ve seen at one of these conferences.
I’ve added a new category to my Vendor Drinking Game (Part One, Part Two) – Words That Aren’t Words. Take any bit of technology or education jargon, whack of the first half, tack it to the second half of another word, and, voila! You have a new trademark!
Good candidates are Edu- and Compu-. For suffixes, the word -cast seems to be stuck on just about anything. There are also other bastardizations of words. Here’s what I’ve seen so far…
- Thinkfinity
- MusiCan
- SynchronEyes
- BridgIT
- Informacast
- EasyCast
- CompuThink
…and I’ve got the pictures to prove it. OK, I think I need to go read Shakespeare or something and clear my palate.
