An Autumnal Equinox Update

From Artists Point, Mount Baker, Washington

No, I haven’t abandoned this site. I’ve just been going through a bit of a dry spell. I’ve been doing some cool things and taking photographs, but for whatever reason have lacked the inspiration or motivation to write. We’re back in South Carolina after a summer in Washington but things have not exactly been normal around here since our return. In the month and a half since getting back I’ve had to deal with lots of household entropy, from faulty air conditioning to dead dishwashers to lawnmowers that won’t start to car issues that I’ve ignored and put on hold until some of these other things are handled.

I haven’t had a chance to kayak as much as I would like. Washington opportunities were lacking, even though we were surrounded by water and gorgeous venues. I’ve had to miss two trips with my Lowcountry Unfiltered friends and will probably have to miss next month’s, too. I have been on the water twice by myself in that time. I’m not going to set any mileage records this year.

I have been playing a TON of music. In addition to my regular Wednesday morning Pickens Flea Market gig I’ve been returning to some places and playing at a few new ones. I have been learning new songs and I’ve been working on ideas for more corporate music. We’ll see where that goes.

And I’m still doing research. When something catches my fancy I make a note of it and then try to do some preliminary research. Maybe one of these ideas will spark my interest and I’ll circle back to it. In the meantime, here are some photos from this past summer’s travels…
