A Western Caribbean Getaway

Day Six – At Sea

This last day we spent almost entirely at the Solarium pool. I think I slept a good part of the day. Another surprise our travel agent had arranged for us was a bottle of champagne in our room. We hadn’t really had a chance to open it, so we brought it to the main dining room with us for dinner and shared it with our friends Brad and Carline. It went well with that evening’s lobster dinner.

Early the next morning we pulled into Tampa. We went under the Sunshine Bridge at 4:00 am, so I didn’t bother getting up to watch. I was awake to watch as we pulled up to the terminal.

Disembarking was just as easy as coming onboard. We were off the ship before we knew it. Chip came and picked us up and took us back to his house and our awaiting car. The day would be chaotic for them with other visitors, so we said our goodbyes and made the long trip back to Greenville.

It was an excellent get-away. I enjoy cruising, but like some parts better than others. I think we overbooked this trip. I wish we had allowed just some time to spend on a beach somewhere. I’m sure we aren’t done with cruising. As Laura said, this seemed like we were hitting the reset button after a long, trying year.

Great, honest, and very informative review of your trip! We will be in Cozumel and Roatan in May, so we will definitely heed your tips!
Now, if we could interest you in an Alaskan Cruise and land tour, I am sure that you will appreciate the difference!
