Miscellaneous

The first day of spring break, and I’m out and about around town.  Lunch was downtown at Trios (making Laura tremendously jealous), then I hit my favorite stops – the Map Shop, then Horizon Records.

My final stop was Oshman’s Sporting Goods, where I bought a pair of hip waders.  When I got home, I had to try them out, so I laced them up and headed to the lake.

After finding a ford across our channel, I wandered through the grass/marsh toward the upper end of the lake.  What I found amazed me.  There are nearly three acres of forested wetlands that remind me quite a bit of Beidler Forest.  Unfortunately, there’s also quite a bit of trash that has washed down from roadsides, etc.  I learned much about the stream and flow directions that feed our little lake, and I also learned that any attempt to dredge the lake back to it’s former shores would be totally useless.
