Aftermath

Rants

My only thought is that there are way too many stupid or delusional people in the United States right now, especially too many that are voting. We’re stuck with the Shrub for another four years, much to the chagrin of the world and 49.5% of the American people. Democrats lost just about every important race. The only bright spots were Barach Obama and holding onto a few incumbant governorships.

Locally, things were a bit better, at least in those races that were actually contested. Minibottles lost, decent people were elected to the School Board, and County Council moved toward a more moderate composition. At the state level it didn’t go so well. We now have Jim Dimentia as a senator, who stated that gays and unwed mothers should not be allowed to teach in public schools. Bob Ingles is back as District Four Congressman. I guess you are for term limits as long as you’re not the one in office.

It’s disheartening. What will make me even madder are the inevitable “Thank God for George W. Bush” editorials that should start flowing in courtesy of the Greenville Cage Liner. If Kerry had one, do you think that these same people would have written “Thank God for Kerry?” Did they thank God when Clinton was elect – twice, no less. I think not. I think that disgusts me most about Repulsicans, that they think God would be petty enough to side with them and their politics.
