Big happenings in Duncan

Things Overheard

…They say they’re going to open up the baseball field at 7:30 for kids. You know, with all those blow up toys that kids can jump on. Plus, there’s going to be a bunch o’ people camping out to make sure they get their tickets…

…There’s also gonna be that triathalon thing. They gonna start by swimming up in Lake Cooley, then ride their bikes from the lake to Lyman First Baptist. From there they’re going to run around the village. Someone siade there are going to be about hundred of them. Add to that all the media types and ESPN people, and it’s going to be a zoo around here… .

..You ever been to a Clemson game? You know how they load the players up on buses, take them up so they can run into the stadium? Well, last Friday they did that with the Rebels. Bobby loaded up to the kids on buses and took them so they could run through that big Jumbotron. I’ll tell ya, if that don’t light a fire in your heart, won’t nothing.

…Speaking on the Jumbotron that thing is truly impressive. It is so high definition. It’s even better than the one at Clemson. Course, theirs probably needs updating.

I really must take a tape recorder with me the next time I get my hair cut.
