This morning the dark sky served to throw the brilliant colors of azaleas, dogwoods, flowers, and the newly green leaves of trees into stark relief. Even with a threat of rain, I thought it might be a good time to go out and get some photos.
I fell back into default mode, and headed downtown. Not wanting to walk straight to Falls Park, I first walked the length of Main Street. I took a few shots of architecture, but ultimately decided that the park offered the best opportunities.
Back at the falls, I decided that I had taken soooo many photos of this area, I needed to find a way to change it up a bit. I looked for opportunities to do some tilt-shift adaptations. I took some shots of the bridge from the top of the Bowater parking garage, and some shots of the park from the bridge itself, focusing on the park rather than the falls. Here are the results. The other shots I took of the falls area were processed using various techniques. Here are two that I did using black and white

I really do need to lern what this “tilt-shift” technique is. Fascinating. But, some of the pictures done that way are reminding me of the work of … Thomas Kincade. Potentially, at least.
Now that we’re no longer on speaking terms (hahaha), it is a coold technique for sure. Have you been over to the Govy School to shoot from that angle? I was there Sunday prior to the GSO Chamber concerrt, and there are some cool views from over there.
I really like the first tilt-shift in this post.
