Art in the Park

Art in the ParkSaturday Laura and I headed downtown for the 15th Annual Art in the Park.  The festival originally started at as a display by a few local artists in Cleveland Park.  It has since migrated to the Falls Park area, with most of the artists booths actually on South Main Street rather than in the park proper.

In the past we’ve been able to find some nice pieces at the festival at reasonable prices.  This year instead of art for the wall, I was able to find a beautiful hand-crafted pen.

I did notice many, many more people with nice cameras out and about.  It could be that I’m just more attuned to it, and pay attention to the types of cameras and lenses that folks are carrying around.

After viewing the artwork, we had an excellent lunch at Overlook Grill, then wandered over to the new construction across the river from the Peace Center.  They have built a new hotel with a fountain play park.  This new area has turned out quite well.
