This past weekend in Greenville it seemed that we were constantly running into people we know. At those locations where we did see friends good things seemed to follow. We didn’t see anyone we knew at the airport the first time we tried to leave Greenville, so one must concluded that there is a connection.
Laura and I were just recovering from our flight, walk to Hyde Park, and extended nap when we heard a knock on our hotel room door. It was our friends Fred and Stephanie – this could only mean good things for London. We chatted a bit, then set off in search of dinner.
Fred had a unique style of navigation, but his wandering led us away from the noisy High Street and through some lovely residential areas. He is being trained in languages at an army base south of London, so he would pause to try to interpret any bit of Arabic script we encountered.
Our wanderings brought us to an eatery called "Little India", so we decided to partake of the de facto cuisine of London – curry. The meal was fantastic, starting with papadam, various condiments, and Kingfisher beer (served mercifully cold.) We each got different dishes, then shared until we couldn’t eat another bite.
