On a recent visit to the Greenville County Library, I picked a copy of the Greenville County Historic Sites Driving Tour, which is published by the Library. I finally got around to looking through it, and saw that there was a companion website which contains all of the information and photos from the printed version, plus a couple of locations that have been torn down since the website was last updated. The site is in need of some serious updating (such as losing the frames), but it still contains some valuable information.
Using the images available on the website, as well as their descriptions, I have created a KML file in Google Earth that shows the locations of these historic sites. Right now I’m relying on the maps from the printed book, as well as my memory of their locations. At some point I’ll get around to double-checking these locations with my GPS.
