It’s been a great weekend.  It started yesterday morning with a quick round of disc golf at Holmes Park with John and Richard.  Richard actually did very well, for a three-year old.  I had my share of good and bad throws, but the highlights came on hole 1, where I nearly sunk it on the second throw from about  150 feet out., and on Hole 2, where I did sink a hole-in-one.  Not too bad.

Laura reminded me via cell phone that Whada’ya Know was broadcasting live from Clemson this week.  During the second half I started calling in to play the quiz.  With a little patience, I got through, and was actually able to play online.  After answering questions about Thomas Clemson’s shoe size, car shows, wearing clothes, and Ruth’s Pimento Cheese, I won a boatload of weird prizes.  The package includes kudzu gifts in a kudzu basket, a gift certificate to some weird dairy in Pelzer, and a Whad’ya Know game complete with a Michael Feldman bobblehead doll.

After two such lucky events, I had no choice but to purchase a lottery ticket.  Oh well, two out of three isn’t too bad.

We had dinner with John and Kate at Travinias, an Italian restaurant on Woodruff Road.  Since we were at the much more fashionable hour of 8:00 for dinner, the wait was a bit longer.  The food was good, and quite reasonable, however I didn’t think their menu was very extensive.  We’ll have to come back some time.
