Vacation Post-Processing

Skagit Barn 2

I took a bunch of pictures – six gigabytes worth, apparently.  There are some out-of-focus junk shots, but there are a surprising number that I really, really like.  Some of the images I want to upload to Flickr right away, but some need deserve a bit of post-processing.  Some of the images I took with the intention of doing something with them, whether it be fake tilt-shift, HDR, or fake lomography.  I just didn’t bring a laptop with me this trip that had Photoshop, so I couldn’t fix things on the fly.  When I get this new laptop configure the way I want it (ie, getting right of Vista), I’ll be happier about processing images while travelling.

Flickr can bit kind of weird.   As I said, I think some of these images came out extraordinarily well.  However, if I upload them all at once, the really good pictures might get lost in the deluge of images.  Therefore, I’ll be sending these out a bit at a time.  Today I uploaded a few HDR shots.  Probably by the end of the week I’ll have the rest of them on the way.

That cabin/building with the mountain background would lend itself to a watercolor or painting ala Wyeth. The boat picture above is reminiscent of a Benwah color scheme, which could be quite interesting. IMO.

It’s a shame that photos like this don’t bring that much money as art objects.
