New Addition to the Family

Our cat Misty now has a new friend. Yesterday we adopted a little yellow fluff ball of a kitten, seven weeks old. This kitten was from a litter of four, and is one of the friendliest kittens we’ve ever encountered. On the way home it curled up in Laura’s lap and wanted its chin rubbed. It really likes being around people, and purrs loudly when pet.

The introductions are going better than we thought. Misty still thinks that this new beast is an intrusion, and hisses a bit, but it’s not nearly as bad as we thought it would be. I’m sure her attitude will improve with time. In the meantime, we’re trying to make her feel safe and that she’s not being replaced.

We haven’t come up with a name for the new kitten yet. We keep trying on various things, but none seem to fit. I guess we have to get to know this little beast a bit better, and find a name fitting. Of course, Laura rejects some of my best names.

My mind is racing. Tom’s rejected cat names . . .?

Jethro, Jedediah, Mad Max, Bealzebub, and various heavy metal related names.

      We decided on Cosmo.

Cat’s eyes are blue enough to be fron Arrakis (Dune). Maybe Muad’Dib?
