At breakfast we had asked our hostess where she recommended for good lobster. She said that the Angler’s Restaurant above Searsport was the place all the locals went, so we decided to give it a try for dinner.
The place was packed, and most of the denizens did appear to be local. We had an awkward start as none of the wait staff seemed to want to acknowledge us. Did we really look THAT non-local? Finally, though, things got back on track, and we ordered our meals.
We each got a whole boiled lobster, which came with salad and baked potato. The lobster was already cracked, so all we had to do was pick out the good bits. The flavors were fantastic, and we relished the meal.
Because of the miscues at the beginning of the meal, we were given free deserts. We both ordered blueberry bread putting, which was packed for us in a to-go package along with a whole can of whipped cream and plastic utensils. The entire meal came to less than $30. It was one of the best, most economical meals we’ve had so far, and it was lobster!
