First game of the season – Jacksonville State University in Alabama versus Furman. This is always a weird game because the students aren’t even back. There’s not enough musicians for a full band, so a small pep band takes its place in the endzone.
Prior to the game we stopped by Publix for our tailgating supplies. Their deli has started making purple bread for sandwiches for the game. We had to try it.
The game itself was closer than we would have liked. Furman didn’t play up to its full potential, but did manage to squeak out a win 17-13.
