Happy Birthday to Laura!
We had a nice birthday meal at La Boheme this evening. Seated at the table next to ours were Charlotte and Lindsey Smith, retired music faculty from Furman. I caught myself trying to be on my best behaviour. Amazing how they can have that effect after 20 years.
I had scallops and polenta with my meal. Never had polenta before – it’s basically grits. Tastes the same, looks the same, and has the same texture. It’s a good thing I like grits. The meal was excellent.
