When we left for Seattle, things were still up in the air with our sick little cat, Winnie. She seemed to be improving, and still had so much life that we didn’t want to put her down just for our convenience. We left instructions with our vet and with our house sitter that if she deteriorated, they were authorized to put her to sleep. We had no phone calls all week, so we weren’t sure what we would find upon our return.
What we found was our cat pretty much back to her old self. She was eating regularly, and even looked like she had gained quite a bit of weight. She had lots of energy. However, she is now keeping herself to her new domain – the basement of our house. Winnie will remain an indoor cat for as long as she is with us. She is still a sick kitty, but has been given an extension. At least now we can monitor things so that we can do what’s right when the time comes.
