I pulled into our parking lot at work Friday morning to find only one other car. I was actually five minutes later than normal, and was wondering what was going on. Turns out not only was it a staff development day, but all of our office staff was at Millikin. It was a blessedly quiet day at work.
The evening was anything but. Not only is it Homecoming at Furman, but it’s also the weekend for the Greenville Chorale’s fall concert. Laura had to join her department for dinner with some out of town guests. My friend Lis had wanted German food, so we met at Haus Edelweiss before I had to rush off to the Peace Center for rehearsal.
The rehearsal went very well. We’re doing the Mozart Requiem and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. Should be a good concert.
The rehearsal ended at 10:00, so I picked up Laura and we headed back up to Furman for our annual mall stroll. Laura and I met at one Furman Homecoming Friday Night on the mall, so this is an anniversary for us. We viewed the displays being built by the students, met with some of Laura’s former students, and road one of the carnival rides. We left campus at midnight, quite exhausted.
