Christian Exodus

Local, Rants, Religion

Speaking of strange things in churches, the lunatic right wing group, Christian Exodus, made the front page of the Greenville News again.  This group is trying to get other ultra-right wingers to move to South Carolina so that it can secede from the Union (again) and form its own Christian Theocracy.  This group thinks that George W. is too liberal for them.  Fortunately, they have only convinced two families to move to the area.  In the unlikely event that this ever did happen, it would be interesting to see how diversity and religious values clash in a theocratic state.  No, wait a minute – that already happened with the Taliban.

Anyway, the article already made it to Fark.com.   Most of the discussion regarding the link goes something along the lines of, "Go for it!  It will make the rest of the nation a better place!"  Now that truly would be scary.

Hmmmm. I can see I will have to be very very careful when I start traveling around the country. No telling what I might step in.

I’m guessing these extremists need a watchdog group. I’d hate to see them gain power because the mainstream populace dismissed them as harmless.
Where have we heard that before?

Those poor poor kids trapped in that ultra tight-ass community…
