Fruit Smoothie on Steroids

Recipes

I was looking for recipes for fruit smoothies, but I didn’t find anything that fit the ingredients. So I came up with my own.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz can of frozen concentrate orange juice
  • 6 oz frozen berries (I used a strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry mix)
  • 1 cup water (or less)
  • 1 cup rum
  • dash of Kijara cherry liqueur

First empty the frozen orange juice into a blender. Pulse a couple of times to soften up the juice. Add about half the water and half the berries then blend. Add more water as necessary to facilitate blending. Add the rest of the berries and continue to blend. Add the rum and a dash of the cherry liqueur to finish off. Serve in a tall glass.

The result is a tart, cool drink with a bit of a kick.

WARNING: Laura informs me that this is a drink where you could really up the rum levels and no one would notice – you could get zonkered very easily. One cup for a large pitcher should be enough for flavoring without too many delitorious effects.

I’m going to have to try this. Especially when you use a word like “zonkered”.
