Happy Mother’s Day!
Another busy, but beautiful weekend — rehearsals Friday night, Saturday morning, and a performance Saturday night occupied most of my weekend. The music finally came together for the performance. There were only a few glaring mistakes. Edvard Tchzival is fun to watch from this side of the stage. I wonder if he choreographs his conducting motions for audience reaction as much as for musical effect.
Surfer Dude decided to try something new – rolling his “r”s in an extreme fashion. This, of course, threw him about a beat and a half behind. I guess I wouldn’t be so ticked off at this guy if he hadn’t come in boasting about how great his voice was. This guy sounds like he is starved for attention, so, I’m giving him some here for the entire world to see.
The concert was fairly short so I was able to get home in time to catch the tale end of our neighborhood party. I was actually supposed to be one of the hosts, but somehow forgot about the concert. It was good to catch up on the neighbors. Once again, I’m glad we moved to this area.
One small item I forgot (or repressed) which I’m sure will come back to haunt me. I was elected vice-president of the Greenville Chorale. From what I understand, it involves selling CDs and organizing next year’s banquet, which is funny because I NEVER buy the CDs, and I have NEVER attended the Chorale banquet.
