The concierge at Helix recommended an Asian, Hispanic fusion restaurant nearby, so we set off in search of the Merkado.
Imagine if you took all of the designers on those weird BBC makeover shows and turned them loose on a hotel, and you would have the Hotel Helix. One enters through sliding curtains – not doors – and is hit with multicolored squares of light that change colors every few seconds.
Laura has a conference in DC, so I decided to tag along for the weekend to visit our friends John and Kate. At four on a Friday we boarded a flight at GSP straight to Reagan International.
