What a day it’s been!

The day first started with a round of disc golf with John and Richard at Holmes Park.  I made a hole-in-one on the second tee.  I had some other incredible shots, but had an equal share of really crappy shots, too.

Laura reminded me that “Whad’Ya Know” was broadcasting from Clemson today.  I had wanted to go, but it sold out before we could get tickets.  Even though it was at Clemson, there were about as many references to Furman, including the infamous “FU One Time” cheer.  The clencher of the show, in my humble opinion, was the quiz in the second half of the show. I called in, got to answer the qualifying question, and was able to play on-air.  I actually won!! My prize package includes a kudzu basket with jellies, a gift certificate to some weird cheese place, a Michael Feldman bobble-head doll, and a Whad’ya Know game.  I guess I don’t feel so bad about not getting tickets now.

Later this evening we’re having dinner a Travinias with John and Kate.  I’ll post a review later.

And on a sad note…

Bob Keeshan, Captain Kangaroo, passed away yesterday at age 76.  So, along with the passing of Fred Rogers earlier this year, Children’s Television has had a major loss.
