Once more the cycle runs its course – the school year has ended, and summer has begun. Not that I noticed very much, now that I’m an administrator. I miss the anticipation of summer vacation. At least this last weekend of the academic year is a long weekend for me.
We started by going to see Shrek 2 Saturday night. It’s hilarious. I’m not sure it’s funnier than the first, because the first one required an attitude adjustment. I approached the first as a children’s movie, and I really liked it, I couldn’t help but think how inappropriate it would be for some kids because of some crude humor.
Sunday was the christening for Rebecca Kaup at St. James Episcopal. Laura and I became godparents. The service was beautiful, despite the rain.
After the service, we drove across the NC/SC border to get beer. I hate blue laws. That done, we proceeded to the Kaups for a night of partying.
Memorial Day proper was spent around the house. I finally recovered the data from Dad’s old computer.
