Greek Grille at Cherrydale

Restaurants

NOTE: This restaurant is now closed.

We have been to the Greek Grille at Cherrydale Point several times.  This particular evening we wanted good food fast because we had tickets to the Little Theater, and thought this would fit the bill.

Atmosphere

The Greek Grille is small, with only a few booths and tables.  The decor is stark and utilitarian.  It gives all the appearance of a non-chain quick sandwich shop.

Menu

There are gyros and souvaki sandwiches, as one might expect.  There are also a few more substantial plates, such as the Zorba Chicken and Greek Grill platter.  Prices run from $5.99 for gyros to $11.99 for the larger platters.

Food

The flavors are always excellent.  My chicken was tender and quite tasty.

Service

Normally, this isn’t an issue.  One orders from the counter and either picks up the order from the counter, or if they’re not busy they’ll bring it out to your booth.  There are no waiters, only cooks.

However, if things get busy, as they were on this most recent visit, things can go downhill fast.  When we saw nearly every table occupied and very little food arriving, we should have taken the warning.  Food was arriving slowly and sporadically.  One table would get an entre, then another.  They couldn’t seem to manage getting an entire table their food in a reasonable time.  The kitchen lacked organization.

Conclusion

The Greek Grille has great food and is reasonably priced.  Service is quick as long as the place isn’t too crowded.
